Samuel Twitchin

Samuel is a Risk Assessor at the UK P&I Club, with responsibility for carrying out safety assessment programmes in Rotterdam and surrounding areas.

 

He joined the Club’s Safety and Risk Management department in 2023. Prior to that, he worked shoreside for the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) as a Senior Marine Surveyor, conducting survey and inspection work, including Port State Control (PSC) inspections, audits and oral examinations for cadets and deck officers.

 

Samuel has over 23 years of seagoing experience on a range of vessels, including container ships, Class II ferries and Class I cruise ships, where he achieved the rank of Deputy Captain. He has also been involved in developing emergency response procedures and maritime standards, and was part of the build team for an LNG-powered cruise ship. 

 

Samuel is a Master Mariner.
