In their latest Circular Ref. No. PNI [2021]11, which can be downloaded below, the UK Club’s Correspondents, Huatai Insurance Agency and Consultant Service Ltd, provide useful guidance to Members on how to avoid collisions with fishing vessels in Chinese coastal waters. Incidents of such collisions are particularly high during fishing seasons (March to May & October to December) due to the increase in vessel traffic, and during hours of darkness and bad weather. The disparity in size between Members’ vessels and the fishing vessels also means heavy losses of life and property very often result from such collisions.
