The UK P&I Club has collaborated with Advocate, Mr V. Subramanian, to issue this Legal Briefing on 'Cargo Claims in India'.
Hong Kong will introduce their own regulation to require vessels plying Hong Kong waters to use cleaner fuel from January 2019 to complement the efforts under the PRC's Ministry of Transport's action plan for the Hong Kong, Macau and PRD (Pearl River Delta).

Legal Briefing: Electronic Bills of Lading

We have recently seen many of our Members switching to electronic bills of lading ("eBLs") on some of their trades. The move towards a paperless trade is therefore gaining momentum. The Club is, however, still receiving many questions about eBLs and about the three eBL systems approved by the International Group of P&I Clubs, namely Bolero, essDOCS and e-titleTM. This Legal Briefing provides brief explanations on these three systems and how each of them works.
In order to help our Members manage the risk of fishing vessel collisions and to learn from these often tragic events, we have worked with experts in fisheries and aquaculture to produce a guide for Masters and their Bridge teams on how to reduce the risk of collisions with fishing vessels.

At their meeting in May 2017, the Directors closed the 2014 policy year. The surplus was transferred to the reserves. The 2014 policy year was closed and open years developing in line with expectations.
