We conduct safety assessments of our Members’ entered ships on request to help them identify and mitigate hazards to safe operation.

Every year the Club handles thousands of claims. The insight gained from this has enabled us to develop an in-house inspection programme, focused on threats that we know from experience cause claims.

As such, we invite you to commission our experienced team of risk assessors, who are all ex-masters or chief engineers, to conduct safety assessments on board your entered ships.

The programme operates completely separately to our condition surveys regime, is voluntary and available to all Club Members at no additional cost. The sole aim is to assist you in identifying and mitigating threats based on your vessel and fleet claims history across seven main risk areas: Personal Injury, Navigation, Pollution, Machinery & Equipment, Cargo, Security and Accident Response.

The assessments will show you how major hazards could occur on your ships, and make suggestions on safeguards you can use to prevent them.
