The Association has recently seen a spate of finger injuries resulting in full or partial amputations. These were all preventable injuries, which have arisen as a result of human error, in the course of normal working operations.

Iran Nuclear Talks Extended to 10th July

There have been reports from the P5+1/Iran nuclear negotiations in Vienna that the deadline for reaching an agreement has now been extended through July 10th 2015.
The UK P&I Club ("The UK Club"), one of the leading shipping protection and indemnity mutual insurers, has appointed Stuart Edmonston as Director of Loss Prevention, following the retirement of Karl Lumbers.
The Joint Plan of Action ("JPoA") agreed by the P5+1 and Iran, which brought limited sanctions relief, is set to expire today, 30th June 2015. La Asociación ha sido informada que el combustible con bajo contenido en azufre (0,1% o menos) será obligatorio para todos los buques de crucero que atraquen en el puerto de Sydney a partir del 1 de octubre de 2015 y en todos los puertos de Nueva Gales del Sur (New South Wales - NSW) a partir del 1 de julio de 2016.
The Association has been advised that low sulphur fuel (0.1% or less) will be mandatory for all cruise ships berthing in Sydney Harbour after 1 October 2015 and in all New South Wales (NSW) ports after 1 July 2016.
