Following the recent publication of a news article by the Association titled "Understanding Mooring Incidents" a recent incident has arisen which demonstrates the seriousness of this issue.
The Association has been advised by Members of difficulties in obtaining navigational information for a new container terminal just opened in Taipei.
The Association is familiar with unfair penalties in Black Sea ports, namely Ukrainian ports. This bulletin reports on the situation now occurring in Georgian ports.

The United States Coast Guard has issued Marine Safety Alert 13-08 addressing the importance of ensuring proper operation of ventilation closure devices, for spaces protected by fixed gas fire extinguishing systems on small passenger vessels.
The Association would like to alert Members to a type of locking mechanism for watertight doors that creates a risk of personal injury.
